Holiday Projects can be the BEST!

I know you’re still putting on the bug spray and suntan lotion, but hear me out: there is never a better time than right now to plan your interior painting project for the holiday season!

As you’re probably aware, contractors’ schedules are currently packed. You call someone and they tell you they’re booked three months out. EVERYONE is busy. The landscaper, the deck carpenter, the bathroom remodeler, and yes, the painter. Well, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand why. COVID forced us all to stay in our homes for so long that we collectively decided that we needed something new. Unfortunately, due to safety restrictions, many small contracting businesses had a hard time retaining old employees and finding new ones for the increased demand. 

However, most contractors have a difficult time booking projects in and around the holiday season. WHY? Many homeowners host their family, entertain guests, or travel in addition to having already stretched budgets. So, if you’re a planner and a long-term thinker, then you know to take advantage of the holidays for your next home project! But you’ll need to act fast. Christmas is right around the corner! Now is a great time to not only plan your project and get pricing, but also to shop around and get the best price.

Many contractors will offer you a discount for projects scheduled the weeks surrounding Christmas and New Year’s. Since there will be a limited demand for contractors during this time, you’re much more likely to get the best guys, who will be happy you are keeping them busy this winter. If you have a large project needing several different contractors, you have the opportunity to save big (potentially thousands of dollars); and if you are planning a getaway, you could skip over all the mess and inconvenience.
